Khatta Meetha Chivda Poha Recipe
Khatta Meetha chivda is a popular tea time snack in Maharashtra.This delicious sweet and sour snack can be enjoyed by all ages. Chivda is a flat rice, also known as poha,pressed rice,avalakki,aval,flattened rice.

2 cup chivda ( poha available in different thickness, thick, medium, thin or nylon poha)
1/2 cup peanuts
1/2 cup Roasted chana dal (dalia)
1/4 cup sugar powdered
1/4 tbsp turmeric
1/2 tbsp salt
1/8 tbsp editable citric acid(less than 1 small gram)
1/4 tbsp red chili powder
15 curry leaves
oil to fry
1/4 tbsp Asafoetida
Half cup of Sev
1/3 cup fried sago
Half cup of fried green peas
Pour oil in kadai or fry pan and make heat when the oil is sufficiently heated put almost half of the Poha, lower the flame and stir fry Poha till it doubles in size but remains white in colour.Take out fried Poha and keep in a strainer to drain out excess oil. Similarly fry the remaining Poha and take it out.Pour the groundnuts in the remaining oil and fry till they turn brown then take them out.
Grind sugar, salt, citric acid and red chili powder together making sugar in to powder. And all the ingredients will be mixed evenly. keep aside.Fry the curry leaves until they are crisp.
Pour 1 tbsp of oil add turmeric powder add poha/chivda/pressed rice keep mixing well till chiva become golden yellow colour off the flame and leave the poha till come to room temperature.Add peanuts,roasted chana dal sugar mix, sev,fried sago,fried green peas and crush the curry leaves over. Mix it gently until all the ingredients are incorporated well.
